…like Joker for Batman, Moriarty for Holmes, Megatron for Optimus, he needs also his other half. A villain. A problem to be dealt with. Doesn’t mean he needs to antagonize something (that is hatred, and he won’t allow hatred filled up his whole life.) He needs only to complete himself. To see his opposite twin, the other end of the continuum. He needs a worthy adversary, a perfect enemy, a reason worth fighting for. So that he can make sense of all life’s meaningless struggle.
